On September 5th of 1999, Sage
Hennequin Kuhens became the 6th and last generation of Kuhenses to be born on the Illyria, Iowa, farmstead established by
John Kuhens right after the Civil War. No longer a functioning farm, it was converted to a Federal Pheasant Preserve in the
early 1980's and was a delightful place to bring Sage into the world.
